Tips & Tricks: How To Force Eject A Stuck CD

Having a stuck CD or DVD can be frustrating. If you have a disk that refuses to eject, here’s a simple solution to force a stubborn disk out.

First, try the normal methods to remove the disc by dragging its icon to the Trash can in the Dock or by selecting ‘Eject’ from the File menu.

If your disk still refuses to eject, congratulations! Your disk is stuck! To solve the issue, shut down your computer and start up by holding down the mouse or trackpad button. It may take awhile, but keep holding it down and eventually your disk will eject and everything will be back to normal!
